(3/17/01) Tom, Brian, and Jim find their first letterbox! Ah, it's one of those memories that will last a lifetime, or maybe five minutes, whichever comes first.

(3/17/01) Jim and Tom take a well-deserved rest after hours of hiking. Two boxes down, eight hundred more to go...

(3/17/01) Jim and Tom will go to any height to discover a new letterbox! If they don't plunge to their deaths, first.... By the way, have you read the Waiver of Responsibility and Disclaimer on the first page?

(4/3/01) After placing his first letterbox, Purdy rushes back to Command Central to carve his own stamp. It takes a steady hand...ouch!

(4/10/01) Sonya, smartly dressed in a suit made of "a miracle fabric that's washable and doesn't require ironing," trudges through the muddy plains of Central New Jersey. In not-very-sensible shoes.

(4/14/01) 11:00am...the Guild gathers for what could be it's first and last group photo. Who knows what dangers await these brave explorers? Yet, the coffee and bagels keeps their spirits high....

(4/14/01) Oooh, aaah, beautiful scenery. But, what's that in the distance? A bird? A plane? No, just some vagrant letterboxers avoiding the treats that horses left on the path.

(4/14/01) Success! Three boxes found, beautiful weather, and no members lost to war or acts of God. Everyone raves about how much fun they had, then rushes to the Pattenburg Tavern to get drunk.

And now, the fine print: Waiver of Responsibility and Disclaimer: Letterboxing, like any outdoor sport, carries the risk of various and unforseen hazards (including, but not limited to, deer ticks and poison ivy). The Perfect Circle Letterboxing Guild support a policy of not knowingly placing letterboxes in areas that will create undue risk to the letterbox hunter. However, as conditions may vary, it is the responsibility of the letterbox searcher to become thoroughly familiar with the conditions in the area to be searched, to adequately prepare for those conditions, and to conduct oneself safely and responsibly with respect to those conditions and with respect to his or her personal abilities and limitations. The Perfect Circle Letterboxing Guild and the individual letterbox sponsors assume no liability for events which may occur related directly or indirectly to one's searching for a letterbox. Do not let children hunt for letterboxes unsupervised. By reading and utilizing this letterbox clue, you acknowledge the above conditions, and accept responsibility for your own actions, and agree to hold non-liable the clubs and clue writers/box sponsors, and further, agree to provide this disclaimer to any person with whom you share these letterbox clues.
