In addition to the PCLG boxes below, be sure to check out the New Jersey clues on the letterboxing.org website.

NOTE: Please remember to always print out a recent version of the clue before you begin your hike! Our clues are sometimes updated to correct small errors, make the clues more legible, or to report hazardous circumstances that have cropped up, such as poison ivy, the bane of letterboxers everywhere.

We now have four hitchhikers roaming about! Look below for details.

An explanation of "Difficulty" ratings:
The star ratings indicate the range of difficulty, 1 star being very easy, and 5 indicating an extremely difficult hunt. Location, terrain, and clue complexity are taken into consideration, and combined for the final rating. Letterboxes with a rating of 1 or 2 stars are appropriate for small children or beginners who are new to letterboxing. However, experienced letterboxers will probably enjoy finding them as well, as the locations are scenic and, in some cases, historically significant.

Our first boxes have been quite easy, in order to give the members of the Guild some practice in orienteering (compass reading), and to allow them to break in their new hiking shoes! But, as we plant more boxes, the difficulty will increase, as the clues become more challenging and the locations more obscure.

Visit www.letterboxing.org for clues to letterboxes placed by other people.

And now, the fine print: Waiver of Responsibility and Disclaimer: Letterboxing, like any outdoor sport, carries the risk of various and unforseen hazards (including, but not limited to, deer ticks and poison ivy). The Perfect Circle Letterboxing Guild support a policy of not knowingly placing letterboxes in areas that will create undue risk to the letterbox hunter. However, as conditions may vary, it is the responsibility of the letterbox searcher to become thoroughly familiar with the conditions in the area to be searched, to adequately prepare for those conditions, and to conduct oneself safely and responsibly with respect to those conditions and with respect to his or her personal abilities and limitations. The Perfect Circle Letterboxing Guild and the individual letterbox sponsors assume no liability for events which may occur related directly or indirectly to one's searching for a letterbox. Do not let children hunt for letterboxes unsupervised. By reading and utilizing this letterbox clue, you acknowledge the above conditions, and accept responsibility for your own actions, and agree to hold non-liable the clubs and clue writers/box sponsors, and further, agree to provide this disclaimer to any person with whom you share these letterbox clues.
